Associate Designer, Water

GFT is seeking an Associate Designer, Water to join our Water Team in Richmond, VA
. This position follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Richmond, VA location.

• Participate in the planning, design, and construction administration of water, wastewater, stormwater, and municipal infrastructure facilities/projects.
• Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections; assist with data collection and compilation for utility infrastructure projects.
• Review permit applications, including Subdivision, Land Development, Grading, and Zoning plans; review and develop Stormwater Management and Erosion and Sediment Control plans.
• Prepare reports.
• Develop design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Prepare federal, state, and local permit applications.
• Perform construction observation and field engineering services.
• Prepare grant/funding applications.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 1 year of relevant experience.
• Engineer‑In‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within the first six months of hire.
• Experience with design and upgrades to Water and Wastewater facilities and pump stations.

The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $75,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.

Richmond, VA. Core business hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Employment status:
