We’re seeking a Deputy Program Manager who excels at leading multiple projects within a coordinated framework.
Responsibilities- Provide top‑tier technical leadership on complex structural and transportation projects—including design build and alternative delivery programs.
- Support oversight of multiple concurrent bridge and transportation projects.
- Oversee all phases of project delivery, from visioning and planning to execution, risk management, and successful closeout.
- Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure technical excellence and contract compliance across projects.
- Direct high‑performing project teams, guiding staffing, scheduling, budget control, quality, and safety while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with VDOT and other state/local agencies.
- Anticipate client needs, deliver unmatched service, and position Jacobs for continued repeat business.
- Lead strategic pursuits, proposals, interviews, and presentations that shape our future pipeline.
- Represent Jacobs in client meetings, industry events, and public forums as a respected project and technical leader.
- Identify emerging opportunities and help chart the future of our structural bridge practice at the local, regional, and national level.
- Support Project Manager’s with staffing strategies, scope management, schedule recovery, and budget performance.
- Mentor and inspire the next generation of bridge engineers across our organization.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Significant experience in structural engineering, design management, and project management with a focus on bridge or complex structures.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Established relationships with VDOT or other state/local agencies.
- Proven success as a Project Manager on transportation projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Working knowledge of VDOT standards, practices, and design procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships.
- A strong professional network and active involvement in industry organizations.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary projects for a variety of transportation clients.

The base salary range for this position is $ to $. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
