Job Description

Eaton’s Electrical division is seeking an EHS Analyst to join our team in Richmond, VA. The Analyst supports environmental, health, safety, sustainability, and security efforts for all employees and groups based out of Eaton’s Youngsville operations in Richmond, VA. The individual is accountable for supporting EHS activities including achieving EHS objectives and targets, internal reporting of EHS performance, assuring closure of MESH and regulatory agency findings on a timely basis, and ensuring plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures, and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulatory requirements and conformance with Eaton mandates.

The role also includes site security, supporting facility management, and enforcing a strong EHS zero incident culture that engages employees throughout the site in EHS teams and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Champion and lead projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our Zero Incident Safety Culture program(s) and support EHS committees to accomplish established targets and objectives for the year
  • Facilitate risk assessments at the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects and work with leadership to create targets and objectives based on key EHS risks
  • Partner with other functional support/engineering teams to ensure plant projects, changes, upgrades, and modifications adhere to PROLaunch and MESH Change Management processes
  • Support the creation of EHS goals for the site and appropriate activity‑based goals for the extended leadership team to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results
  • Use established EHS data processes such as MESH Prism to manage data including injuries and illnesses, environmental metrics, risk assessments, and EHS action items
  • Manage site security and support facility management as needed
  • Facilitate EHS engagement through employee teams and committees such as the Safety Committee and Electrical Safety Team, and facilitate safety‑related kaizen events and weekly Gemba walks
  • Compile and analyze MESH data for the Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring; produce data for the monthly balanced scorecard based on MESH corrective action completion and incident rates
  • Work with leadership and MESH element champions to complete an annual MESH self‑assessment of compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and participate in the Corporate EHS assessment process
  • Engage MESH element champions in ownership of the MESH elements
  • Pursue third‑party recognition for programs that establish the site and Eaton’s EHS program as world class
  • Coordinate the training of all personnel in required safety, health, and environmental policies
  • Evaluate jobs for possible ergonomic improvements (body mechanics, lifts, hoists, manipulators, etc.) and implement work‑design changes
Qualifications
  • High School/GED (minimum) with either 2 years of Environment, Health, and Safety experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment or 3 years of EHS experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental studies, manufacturing engineering, management/business, or a related technical field
  • Experience with Powered Industrial Trucks, Electrical Safety, and Ergonomics programs
  • CPR/AED/FA certified trainer
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comprehension of industry, state, and country EHS requirements
  • Adept at utilizing company‑wide system for reporting EHS data and information
  • Ability to act as an agent of change and effective in enabling and driving change
  • Deliver communication with clarity, impact, and passion tailored to the audience
