The Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting product quality, customer issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives within an electrical manufacturing environment. This role involves analyzing defective products, conducting root cause investigations, implementing corrective actions, and collaborating with field service and manufacturing teams to improve product reliability and operational performance. The ideal candidate has strong electrical engineering knowledge, hands‑on troubleshooting experience, and the ability to communicate technical findings effectively to both internal teams and customers.
Job Responsibilities- Ensure adherence to electrical safety standards and maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety
- Collaborate with field service teams and process quality engineers to implement containment and corrective actions
- Analyze defective customer‑returned products and perform root cause investigations
- Prepare detailed 8D reports, analysis documentation, and corrective action summaries for customers and internal stakeholders
- Visit customer sites to resolve complaints, provide technical support, collect defective materials, and strengthen customer relationships
- Coordinate with service teams to obtain returned materials and support issue resolution activities
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, evaluation, and servicing of electrical distribution and control systems
- Support continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing product quality, reliability, and operational efficiency
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, PCB assembly drawings, and technical documentation
- Utilize electrical and electronic test equipment including power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power analyzers
- Support quality investigations, corrective action implementation, and process improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate technical records, analysis documentation, and customer communication records
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, quality, and field service personnel
- Demonstrate accountability, professionalism, and commitment to safety and integrity standards
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or quality control environments required
- Hands‑on experience with transformers, PDUs, STSs, UPS systems, or related electrical distribution equipment required
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to electrical and electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and PCBA drawings
- Proficiency using electrical test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and power supplies
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and root cause investigation skills
- Experience preparing 8D reports and corrective action documentation preferred
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, PPS, or related continuous improvement methodologies preferred
- Familiarity with electrical industry standards including UL, NEMA, IEEE, DOE, and CSA standards preferred
- Strong communication and customer interaction skills
- Ability to travel occasionally for customer site visits
- Experience with Microsoft Power Platform is a plus
- Previous experience in electrical manufacturing, power distribution, electronics, or industrial quality engineering environments preferred
- Experience supporting customer quality investigations and field issue resolution preferred
- Experience leading or supporting continuous improvement initiatives preferred
