Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer / Rotating Equipment Field Engineer
As a Machinery Diagnostics Field Engineer, you will provide comprehensive service solutions to address customers’ critical rotating machinery assets, protection, and monitoring systems. Your responsibilities will include evaluating machinery condition based on rotor dynamic analysis.
Responsibilities- Diagnose machinery problems based on vibration data, operational data, and customer communications.
- Travel to customer sites to provide supporting service.
- Complete timely reports that identify findings and provide recommendations to the customer.
- Build relationships with customers to deliver high‑level service, becoming a trusted advisor for rotating equipment health.
- Calculate and oversee placement of balance weights.
- Apply Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) standards and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical Engineering a plus).
- Minimum 2 years of industry experience.
- Availability for extensive travel (up to 70%) and significant overtime (paid).
- Valid driver’s license and passport (or ability to obtain a passport).
- Eligibility for TWIC.
- Eligibility to travel overseas and/or work on offshore platforms occasionally.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of reliability services.
- ISO certification for vibration analysis.
- Demonstrated authority and assurance in dealing with people.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to convey technical concepts.
- Experience working under stressful conditions.
- Project Management skills.
- Solid computer skills using MS Office.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills (Hands‑on approach).
- Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding mechanical prints.
- Knowledge of rotating machinery operation and control systems.
- Knowledge of machinery protection and management systems.
- Experience with at least one of the following: mechanical vibration, rotating machinery vibration/diagnostics, rotodynamic analysis, PdM data acquisition/evaluation, machinery balancing and alignment.
- Knowledge of Bently Nevada products and Cordant™ services.
- Basic familiarity with computer network systems.
