Electrical Power Systems Technician
Technical school graduate and or engineering degree Minimum of 5 years experience testing and evaluating low, medium and high voltage electrical power systems Certified as, or ability to be reinstated as, a NETA III or higher technician
Job ResponsibilitiesRead and understand electrical one line drawings Perform all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems including start up and commissioning. Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair the following low, medium, and high voltage electrical distribution equipment:
- Automatic Transfer Switches
- Circuit breakers
- Conductors
- Relays
- Starters
- Switchgears
- Transformers
Perform power system studies such as Short Circuit & Coordination, Arc Flash and Load Flow Operate an infrared thermography camera, and diagnose equipment accordingly Write complete, detailed electronic reports promptly after project completion.
Other required skills:
Strong computer skills: including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite Effective written and oral communication skills to maintain relationships with managers and clients.
