Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly engaged and team-oriented Design Draftsman with a strong background in computer-aided drafting principles. This role involves creating and updating drawings used in electrical construction packages, such as single lines, wiring diagrams, and plan drawings. The position requires collaboration with other department personnel to clarify the intent of designer and engineer sketches. Additional responsibilities include maintaining supplemental project documentation, such as cable schedules and vendor cut sheets.
Occasional site visits and related tasks may be required to meet project needs. This position reports to the Supervisor of Design and Documentation and functions as an intermediate-level draftsman for the electrical design group.
- Understand and employ personal safety practices at all times.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Prepare electrical drawings for power generation engineering projects in accordance with corporate standards.
- Provide general electrical design support for the power generation fleet, including equipment, cable/raceway, and drawing number support.
- Maintain drawing records in compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
- Coordinate site visits and perform fieldwork as necessary.
- Thorough knowledge of drafting principles.
- Proficiency in Micro Station and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience with drawing and document management systems (Project Wise and Documentum preferred).
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage project workloads with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to changes in project scope and schedules.
- Required:
High School diploma or GED. - Preferred:
Associate degree in Drafting.
- Office work environment: 76-100%.
- Travel:
Up to 25%. - Outdoor work:
Up to 25%. - Exposure to dust, grease, oil, cold, heat, fumes, and loud noise:
Up to 25%. - Unescorted Nuclear Access is not required for this position.
- The role does not involve operating or driving a vehicle on behalf of the company.
- W-2 contractor position; overtime is not required.
Pay Range: $32.00 - $35.00 Hourly (W2). Compensation will be determined by factors such as scope, complexity, location, skills, and experience.
