Job Description

As Site Engineering Senior Manager at Mondelēz International, you will ensure that projects are successfully completed on time and on budget. This includes project governance, budget and timeline development, build quality, testing, operational readiness, and the completed project’s readiness to go live.

Key Responsibilities
  • The Site Engineering Sr Mgr sits on the Plant Leadership Team and is responsible for planning and execution of projects and cash flow management.
  • This role is accountable for developing the site master plans (facility and asset long‑range plans). Capital investments will range between $20 MM and $50 MM USD, with approximately 5 engineering direct reports.
  • This job is accountable for ensuring engineering leadership for existing lines driving the technical agenda toward 85 % Global Line Efficiency and 100 % Vertical Start‑up of new lines, as well as leading the development and execution of new initiatives in line with the site master plan.
  • The role supports and co‑leads global and regional engineering platforms working toward standardized line designs.
  • Lead and champion the development of required skills within plant engineering teams through technical and project managerial capabilities upgrade and coaching to ensure initiatives are managed at a high level of efficiency, quality and employee safety.
  • Own and lead the ‘Innovation Initiative Pillar (IIM)’ within the Integrated Lean 6 Sigma (IL6S) implementation, responsible for Vertical Start‑Up (VSU) management and Technical Readiness in all initiatives; apply advanced leadership tools to promote cultural change and drive IL6S work processes.
  • Balance leading‑edge technology solutions with capital availability and high savings.
  • Identify engineering solutions that consider our global network and category position.
  • Integrate IL6S phase requirements into projects.
  • Manage ambiguity, interpret large amounts of information, and draw conclusions that support the project scope.
  • Think outside of the box and understand broad category needs.

Strategic Planning and Leadership
  • Technical leader for the entire site while steering the Plant Leadership Team.
  • Develop and execute site master plans to enable growth, innovation and efficiency and promote a high‑performance work environment.
  • Develop a capital roadmap informed by the manufacturing strategy and the commercial roadmap.
  • Implement best‑in‑class technology and capability; benchmark conversion costs and technology platforms.
  • Assess internal manufacturing capability and support optimum sourcing decisions for innovation and capacity with Business Development partners.
  • Create flexibility and capability with focus on zero losses and 100 % engagement.
  • Initiate step‑change productivity planning leveraging technology and assets; translate loss analysis into initiatives that fill the funnel for the plant’s profit‑sustaining and enhancing project portfolio, prioritizing budget for maximum ROI.
  • Develop and roll out standards and breakthrough ideas in close cooperation with cross‑functional partners on site and regional level, including Research Development & Quality, Procurement and related functions.
  • Responsible for capital investment initiatives and for achieving the plant’s Compelling Business Need (CBN) including safety, service, cash flow, productivity and growth targets.
  • Active member of Plant Leadership Team.
  • Lead multi‑functional project development and coordination.
