Sr. Project Manager - Water Richmond, Virginia
Garver is seeking a Sr. Project Manager in our Richmond, VA office to join our Mid‑Atlantic Water team. The Project Manager will manage projects consisting of design reports, studies, technical memoranda, detailed plans, and specifications. The role requires working closely with clients, internal and external, to exceed expectations. The Project Manager will also mentor staff, coordinate schedules, monitor budgets, and ensure the delivery of quality products that adhere to Garver standardization.
The Project Manager’s responsibilities include:
- Design and manage a variety of projects related to:
- Water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Water conveyance and distribution, including pump stations and storage facilities
- Wastewater conveyance and collection, including lift stations, gravity systems, and force mains
- Water and wastewater master planning
- Coordinate with other support disciplines, regulating agencies, and execute quality assurance and quality control.
- Period travel as needed for projects, conferences, marketing, and other duties.
- Manage scope, budget, and schedule for a team of project engineers, design engineers, and CAD technicians.
- Develop detailed project instructions, scopes of work, levels of effort, and man‑hour estimates.
- Maintain accurate project accounting and conduct written and oral reporting to clients and team leaders.
- Prepare and deliver Quality Assurance and Quality Control Plans.
- Administer construction engineering for local projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, biological, or a similar engineering field from an ABET accredited program.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
- Licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia or the ability to gain reciprocity within six months of hire.
- 12 or more years of similar experience in the water/wastewater utilities market.
- Passionate about client service and the water industry.
- Strong work ethic and strong communication skills.
- Master’s degree in civil, environmental, biological, or a similar engineering field from an ABET accredited program.
- Experience with state or national conference technical presentations on water/wastewater treatment topics.
