Overview

TRC is currently seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer with expertise in the permitting, troubleshooting, and conceptual design of water/wastewater treatment systems for utility and industrial projects. The successful candidate will have proven experience with navigating Effluent Limit Guideline (ELG) constraints for the utility/coal combustion residuals (CCR) market and/or various industrial markets.

Our engineering staff provides support for permitting and design of a wide variety of technically challenging projects primarily for utility, industrial, renewable energy, and public sector/private clients.

Responsibilities
  • Performing regulatory applicability assessments, preparing permit applications, and assisting in negotiating permits.
  • Completing engineering calculations (i.e., for wastewater treatment and permitting).
  • Interpreting data, conducting analyses, and comparing findings to regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Preparing summary reports, technical memoranda, and email correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and estimates for various projects.
  • Assist in the management of projects and support other project managers, including budgets, schedules, and client relations.
  • May be responsible for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Business development activities may include interacting with clients to identify and develop new project opportunities, which will include maintaining strong relationships with clients, developing proposals, and networking with clients and project partners at conferences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental/Civil/Chemical engineering, or closely related discipline
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in water/wastewater treatment consulting; 10+ years of experience with utility/in coal combustion residuals (CCR) projects.
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, ability to write well, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with a wide variety of external clients, subcontractors, and third-party stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs.
  • Willingness to travel and periodically adjust personal schedule to meet project needs.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
