Job Summary
GFT is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Water to join our Stormwater Team in Richmond, VA. This hybrid role requires regular attendance at our Richmond office. The team focuses on stormwater management, water and wastewater treatment, and infrastructure projects. The Senior Project Manager will lead engineering services for stormwater projects for public and municipal utility district clients.
Responsibilities- Prepare proposals, budgets, and client agreements
- Lead and oversee design and technical aspects of team projects including detailed engineering design, calculations, report writing, permitting, and client presentations
- Write responses to client RFQs and solicitations
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, public agency officials, and community leaders
- Coordinate and monitor project tasks, budgets, and schedules
- Participate in the development of company design and production standards
- Direct and manage the implementation of projects, coordinating with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and internal parties to achieve milestones
- Oversee construction phases to ensure works are completed according to contract documents, on time and within budget
- Participate in professional associations and civic organizations
- Support client marketing and business development activities, including development of scope, schedule, and budget for proposals
- Mentor staff and develop other project managers
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the State of Virginia
- At least 15 years of experience managing substantial stormwater projects from conception to completion
- Demonstrated strong project management skills and record of delivering projects on schedule and budget
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including effective presentations and written report preparation
- Knowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulations
- Proven ability to manage projects on time and within budget
- Proven ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and public agency officials
- Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and technical professionals
- Active involvement in professional associations and civic organizations
The salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000, dependent upon experience and geographic location.
