We’re seeking a CMT Technician to perform field testing and inspections on construction projects. This position will primarily test soils and concrete while documenting results for compliance with project specifications and DOT requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform field testing of soils, concrete, and construction materials.
- Conduct concrete sampling, slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder testing.
- Complete soil density and compaction testing using a nuclear density gauge.
- Inspect site conditions and verify work against plans and specifications.
- Accurately document test results, field observations, and deficiencies.
- Communicate findings with contractors, project managers, engineers, and inspectors.
- Follow DOT procedures, ASTM standards, and company safety requirements.
- Maintain testing equipment and required calibration records.
- Construction materials testing, geotechnical, inspection, or construction field experience.
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I certification.
- Experience testing soils and concrete.
- Nuclear density gauge experience and applicable radiation safety certification.
- Familiarity with DOT testing and documentation requirements.
- Ability to read project plans, specifications, and testing procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between project sites.
- DOT certifications or prior experience on roadway and infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, and quality control procedures.
- Additional certifications in soils, asphalt, concrete, or special inspections.
- Experience preparing daily field reports and electronic testing records.
