Job Description
Kleinfelder's Construction Services team is looking for a Construction Engineer to work on innovative, multi-disciplinary design projects for high‑profile state agencies and large municipalities. The role involves managing all phases of project execution—including project organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting—while working closely with inspectors, construction managers, and other technical experts.
Responsibilities- Duties include the creation of proposals, scheduling, and budgeting on projects.
- Interact with client stakeholders and coordinate workload with construction management staff.
- Manage all phases of project execution including project organization, subcontractor/vendor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship, and reporting.
- Lead and participate in technical, cost, and scheduling decisions, adhering to company quality standards and driving customer value.
- Oversee pursuits, designate appropriate resources to projects, define client needs, address client concerns, and manage engineering resources within budget.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external teams of clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate on a program of construction management projects striving for continuous improvement in process development and execution.
- Devise innovative and creative solutions to problems encountered.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 3+ years of project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
- 1‑2 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Candidates must satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report, and a comprehensive background check.
