Automation Engineer

Job Description

In need of a candidate who is an expert in automation and digital transformation within the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry or food, beverage or pharmaceutical. Candidate will utilize technical knowledge to drive digital transformation.

• Assist in development and execution of automation and digitalization.
• Be heavily involved in capital projects while ensuring budget parameters.
• Participate in optimization efforts, incorporating feedback/communication with engineering teams.
• Responsible for manufacturing automation systems and cybersecurity.
• Actively apply company information systems standards and procedures.
• Long‑term activities include financial planning to migrate obsolete systems into more modern/current supported hardware and software.
• Actively support automation‑driven deployments and new line/equipment in terms of integration.
• Develop and execute automation upgrades and digital manufacturing transformation.
• Responsible for OTN (Operations Technology Network) and controls systems for plants.
• Project manager for various capital projects.
• Responsible for cybersecurity technology of various plants.
• Serve as issue escalation point for automation, OTN automation, budgets and management including maintenance and lifecycle management.
• Develop capability for cybersecurity and automation within various plants.
• Implementation to increase the digital maturity index at the site considering computerization, connectivity, visibility, transparency, predictive capacity and adaptability.
• Actively participate in global and regional automation and systems development including security communications.

Candidate must have extensive experience in automation, digitalization, and cybersecurity. MUST HAVE ALL 3!

Must come out of the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) industry, food, beverage or pharmaceutical. Operating areas include project engineering, IoT/i4.0. Must have a minimum of 8 years of automation and project management experience in the above industries. Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering.

Must be able to travel.
