ECS is seeking a Code Compliance Project Manager to join our Mid-Atlantic Building Science & Infrastructure team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you’ll lead a wide range of inspection and plan review projects while ensuring alignment with state and local building codes. The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on experience in building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems, along with strong project management capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Perform third‑party building, electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, plumbing, and fire safety building inspections
  • Prepare and submit daily time and inspection/field reports in accordance with ECS policy
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of state and local building code regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Manage code compliance projects: review plans, provide technical support, conduct inspections, monitor project processes for performance and budgetary conditions, prepare proposals, attend project site meetings, and assist in resolving technical and administrative problems
  • Mentor and train other building inspectors (as needed)
  • Assist with P & L management, client interaction, marketing, and business development functions related to code inspections
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in code compliance inspection of building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems and/or plan review
  • At least one valid ICC certification required (B2, M2, P2, E2, Fire Inspector I or Fire Inspector II)
  • Valid driver’s license if driving for or on behalf of an ECS subsidiary
