This is a full-time, on‑site Production Manager role based in Patterson, NJ. The Production Manager oversees daily manufacturing operations, ensuring aerospace hardware and assemblies are produced safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include planning and prioritizing production schedules, allocating labor and equipment, and monitoring workflow to eliminate bottlenecks. The role coordinates closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership to support new product introductions, resolve technical and process issues, and improve manufacturability.
The Production Manager leads, coaches, and evaluates production team members, promotes continuous improvement, maintains compliance with AS9100D and customer requirements, and tracks key performance indicators such as throughput, on‑time delivery, scrap, and efficiency.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight for the successful introduction of new products and processes into production through concurrent engineering practices, new technologies, and methods.
- Provide technical guidance and direction in the area of manufacturing engineering to assure operations and development projects and initiatives are achieved.
- Review and execute the master schedule provided by the materials group efficiently to ensure on‑time delivery and favorable product delivery costs.
- Analyze shop schedules; establish monthly and weekly shipment budgets to meet or exceed the Division’s goals; ensure capacity constraints are identified and overcome.
- Develop and implement improved information and reporting systems for manufacturing and production.
- Establish, present, and manage budgets for conducting department activities.
- Forecast, plan, and direct resources to achieve department and company objectives.
- Maintain performance metrics to monitor progress and keep management informed of status, challenges, accomplishments, and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures; create, review and update improvement plans, at a minimum, on a monthly basis.
- Review employee performance to assure deserving employees are recognized and that underperforming employees are given the direction required to improve their performance.
- Develop medium to long range manufacturing strategies to meet the current business environment.
- Provide guidance to the Design Engineering group as it pertains to producibility while meeting manufacturing costs.
- Participate in long‑range business planning and budget preparation.
- Must have good oral and written communications and a high level of moral and ethical codes.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch and reach with hands and arms, climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (Manufacturing Engineering and/or Mechanical Engineering preferred) from a four‑year college or university. A minimum of 8 years of related experience and/or training in lieu of degree. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and be an effective communicator. Experience in aerospace industry is preferred.
