We’re looking to add a Test Technician 2 located in Henrico, VA
. The Test Technician 2 role involves testing and verifying the performance of power distribution equipment; reading and interpreting technical documents; performing inspections, testing, and repairs; accurately recording test data; completing technical reports and factory acceptance tests; collaborating cross-functionally to ensure product specifications are met; and maintaining a safe, clean testing environment. Reporting to the Operations Engineering Manager

- Test & verify the performance/function of power distribution equipment and assemblies, using multi-meters, current meters, HI‑POT Testers, Phase Rotation Meters, and other testing equipment.
- Read blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly, ensuring conformance to product specifications.
- Read inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, and certification processes to ensure proper test procedures are followed.
- Obtain and accurately record data obtained during testing using a computer and several types of programs not limited to Modbus Poll, Adobe Acrobat, Word, Excel, various web interfaces, and other specialized programs.
- Complete inspection of all electrical equipment coming into the Test areas.
- Completion of technical reports and Factory Acceptance Tests.
- Verify and install revolving cable layouts for different jobs.
- Make necessary repairs and/or refer test issues to Supervisor for further diagnosis.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure company product specifications are being followed or to assist with other manufacturing needs.
- Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the Test Department Supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment within all Test areas.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of hands‑on experience testing low‑voltage power distribution systems; associate degree or technical degree in electronics, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent military training or experience in electronics, electrical systems, engineering, or related technical disciplines.
- Prior experience with low‑voltage switch gear, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPPs), static switches, and powered busway systems preferred; data center or other mission‑critical environment experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of applicable safety standards and electrical codes, including NFPA 70E, NEC, UL, and IEC.
- Solid understanding of three‑phase power, DC power systems, electrical power generation, and AC/DC power distribution.
- Ability to recognize hazardous conditions and apply safe work practices before performing testing or troubleshooting activities.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting capability at the circuit board and component level.
- Proficiency in the use of a wide range of hand tools and electrical test equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Competence using computers and software applications for data entry, testing documentation, and reporting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional, cooperative, and organized working relationship within a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow detailed instructions and apply mathematical formulas and concepts accurately.
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours as business needs require.
