We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Team Leader to support bridge inspection and structural engineering projects throughout the DMV region. The successful candidate will lead inspection teams, manage field operations, coordinate with clients and government agencies, and contribute to the successful delivery of bridge inspection and rehabilitation projects.
Salary: $100,000 – $140,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Perform on-site safety inspections of bridges and culverts
- Lead a team of inspectors in the field during inspections
- Schedule and coordinate inspections, personnel, vendors, stakeholders, and maintenance of traffic
- Operate access equipment and other equipment to perform inspections
- Review and update bridge inspection reports
- Develop repair recommendations
- Review structural analysis data
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Successful completion of:
- NHI Course No. 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges)
- NHI Course Nos. 130056 and 130078.
- Minimum of five (5) years of bridge inspection experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience serving as a qualified NBIS Team Leader.
- Strong knowledge of National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS).
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel locally throughout the DMV region (approximately 50% travel).
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- NHI Fracture Critical Inspection Techniques for Steel Bridges certification.
- NHI Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures certification.
- SPRAT Level I Technician certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Aerial Lift certification.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
