About the RoleThe Life Safety Systems/Fire Alarm SME is a key role working on data center facilities projects. You will collaborate closely with clients and contribute to the entire design process, delivering world‑class designs for well‑known clients around the world.
Responsibilities- Quality control of Fire Alarm and Life Safety System drawings
- Providing markups on lead engineer submittals to align with design intent and client specifications
- Providing design guidance and explaining best practices based on real‑world experience
- Mentoring junior staff
- Client interaction and justification for design intent
- NICET FAS Level III or IV certification
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- Extensive design experience with Fire Alarm Systems and related manufacturers’ equipment, including VESDA systems
- Proficiency in IBC, IFC, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code and NFPA 72 Fire Alarm and Signaling Code
- Knowledge of NFPA 75, NFPA 76, NFPA 2001 and NFPA 13 codes
- Knowledge and application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements
- Knowledge of general design and construction specifications
- Experience mentoring junior staff
- Extensive design experience in data centers
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Experience leading projects and managing resources
- Experience estimating and scheduling mid‑to‑large‑scale projects
