Job Description

The Process Engineering and Test Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical direction for injection molding process engineering, mold testing, process validation, and continuous improvement activities. Leading a multi‑functional group of engineers and technicians, this role ensures molding processes are safe, efficient, scalable and aligned with company and industry standards while supporting the integration of new materials, tooling and technologies.

The manager partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance and Global MPE&E teams to drive operational excellence, standardisation and long‑term manufacturing capability growth.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of Process Engineers, Process Technicians and Materials Engineers, fostering a high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation and results.
  • Lead workforce capability development by identifying areas of proficiency that need improvement, establishing development plans and ensuring appropriate technical training resources, programmes and domain expertise are available to support organisational objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching and career development planning to support employee growth and engagement.
  • Lead all aspects of injection moulding process performance, ensuring alignment with standardised operating procedures while identifying and implementing opportunities for quality improvement, waste reduction, productivity enhancement and cost savings.
  • Drive process optimisation initiatives utilising lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, scientific moulding practices and waste elimination models.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process capability, quality performance, productivity, scrap reduction and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the senior technical authority for complex moulding process issues, ensuring timely resolution and implementation of sustainable corrective actions.
  • Maintain deep expertise in injection moulding, scientific moulding, process validation, material behaviour, process control systems and mould testing methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Extensive years of progressive experience in injection moulding, process engineering or manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Proven leadership or management experience leading technical teams.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional improvement initiatives and technical projects.
  • Experience working in global or multi‑site manufacturing environments preferred.
Certifications & Technical Skills
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab and Power BI.
  • Strong experience with scientific moulding, Design of Experiments (DOE), process validation protocols and statistical analysis.
  • Familiarity with mould testing equipment, validation methodologies and process monitoring technologies preferred.
  • Knowledge of process capability analysis, SPC, FMEA and risk assessment methodologies preferred.
