Responsibilities include structural design, analysis, and oversight of bridge projects ranging from highway overpasses to pedestrian walkways. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, compliance, and innovation in every project.

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI is hiring a Senior Bridge Design Engineer. You’ll be responsible for the structural design, analysis, and oversight of bridge projects ranging from highway overpasses to pedestrian walkways. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, compliance, and innovation in every project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Micro Station, STAAD, Midas).
  • Prepare detailed design drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct load rating and stress analysis for new and existing structures.
  • Review and check design calculations and drawings prepared by junior engineers.
  • Coordinate with architects, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams.
  • Ensure compliance with AASHTO, DOT, and other relevant codes and standards.
  • Participate in field inspections and condition assessments of bridges.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and clients.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-Accredited Program.
  • Strong proficiency in required design software such as Micro Station, AutoCAD, or Revit.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication and technical writing skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:

  • Ability to maintain required certifications

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) eligibility

Pre-employment drug screening and background checks may be required based upon position.
