Senior Environmental Compliance Specialist
Pay: $35 - $37/hr

Exciting opportunity for individuals with a passion and focus in environmental compliance/nature-focused work!
Join our team to help advance renewable energy projects while ensuring environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance. In this role, you'll lead environmental permitting, compliance, and due diligence efforts across renewable energy facilities, partnering with internal teams, consultants, and regulatory agencies to support successful project development and operations.
What You'll Do- Lead environmental compliance programs for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage environmental permitting and due diligence activities, including:
- Clean Water Act (Sections 401 & 404)
- Endangered Species Act (Section
7) - Historic Preservation Act (Section 106)
- Stormwater Management
- Erosion & Sediment Control
- Review environmental studies, technical reports, and field data to identify compliance risks and develop practical solutions.
- Prepare permit applications, regulatory reports, technical correspondence, and agency submissions.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, participating in inspections, permit negotiations, and public or stakeholder meetings.
- Interpret new and evolving environmental regulations and advise project teams on compliance requirements and best practices.
- Develop compliance tools, deliver environmental training, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections of construction and operational activities.
- Manage environmental consultants and contractors, including scopes of work, technical oversight, budgets, and deliverables.
- Utilize environmental compliance databases to monitor and report regulatory performance.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations affecting renewable energy projects.
- Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination.
- Ability to analyze complex environmental issues and develop effective, practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Collaborative mindset with the confidence to advocate for environmental compliance while balancing business objectives.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant environmental compliance or permitting experience.
- Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
