Marine Structures Project Engineer
Locations: US-NY-New York; US-MD-Baltimore; US-NC-Raleigh; US-PA-Philadelphia; US-DC-Washington; US-VA-Virginia Beach; US-VA-Richmond; US-NJ-Woodcliff.
Salary: USD $95,000 - $125,000 per year.
We are looking for a Marine Structures Project Engineer with expertise in structural and geotechnical engineering for marine and waterfront projects.
Responsibilities- Design of piers, wharves, and bulkheads, including key components such as piles, pile caps, deck, fenders, and mooring bollards/cleats using concrete, steel, timber, and composites.
- Analyze existing structural capacity of deteriorated components to determine remaining capacities.
- Perform field inspections of existing structures.
- Conduct berthing and mooring analyses.
- Prepare plans, designs, drawings, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with internal disciplines and external partners.
- Prepare engineering reports and other technical documents.
- Provide site visits during construction to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Responsible for the technical design and engineering required to complete projects or portions of projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work; design complete projects, systems, components, or processes.
- Assist with the preparation of project scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
- Prepare complete project documents, analyze and interpret data, and solve technical problems.
- Assign tasks to and direct engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Assist with proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on multidisciplinary design/engineering projects.
- Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring engineering projects.
- Project management experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to construction management, quality assurance, and safety protocols.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Master's Degree (preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- Pre‑employment drug screening and background motor vehicle checks may be required.
