The RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team supporting the Federal Fuels Market Sector. This role involves assisting with mechanical design, inspection, and planning services for industrial and fuel-related infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles with a core focus in piping and fuel systems, and a desire to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities- Perform mechanical design and layout of industrial piping and pumping systems, storage tanks, and related equipment
- Support field inspections and gather data to inform engineering design and planning efforts
- Prepare and update technical drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D
- Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to develop project plans and specifications
- Organize and maintain project documentation, reports, and communication logs
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Project) to create reports, schedules, and presentations
- Ensure all work complies with applicable industry standards and client requirements
Required
- 5+ years of engineering experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- EIT is required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant 3D. Experience with BIM is a plus
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, and Project
- Understanding of industrial mechanical systems, including piping layout, pumping systems, and storage tanks
- Ability to travel, visit military bases and must be able to pass a military background check
Preferred
- Engineering experience working on Department of Defense contracts
- Piping Inspector Certification
- PE License
