Job SummaryWe are seeking a Steam Power Services Design Engineer to join a dynamic engineering team supporting steam turbine service operations across North America. In this role, you will contribute to steam turbine service engineering activities, including outage planning and execution, technical support for field teams, root cause analysis, component design, and collaboration with sourcing and parts engineering teams.
You will work closely with global rotating equipment engineering teams to develop and deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality engineering solutions for steam turbine products and services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical guidance and engineering support to field engineers and service managers during outage planning and execution for industrial, fossil, and nuclear steam turbines, including both OEM and legacy equipment.
- Support customer-facing teams with steam turbine design, service-related inquiries, and engineering applications.
- Lead small to medium-scale steam turbine service engineering projects, such as turbine interchangeability studies.
- Assist sourcing teams in resolving material substitutions and product non-conformance issues.
- Provide technical expertise to parts engineering and sourcing teams to ensure product form, fit, and function requirements are met.
- Evaluate product and process non-conformances and drive corrective and preventive actions through structured root cause analysis.
- Travel domestically as required to support customer site activities (approximately 5%).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in steam turbine service engineering
. - Minimum 1+ year of hands‑on field execution experience, preferably within the power generation industry.
- Experience with NX CAD drafting is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated project management and technical documentation skills.
- Good understanding of steam turbine systems and balance of plant (BOP) operations.
- Experience with inspection methods and repair techniques for steam turbine rotating and stationary components.
- Hands‑on experience with steam turbine disassembly, assembly, startup, and operational support.
- Self‑motivated, adaptable, collaborative, and eager to learn.
