New Graduate Project Engineer I - Traffic Analysis & Planning

Timmons Group is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I candidate for our Richmond, VA office's Traffic Analysis & Planning Group.

Essential duties and responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• Work to complete design details and plan sets for a variety of project types, i.e. signal design, pedestrian safety, pavement marking and signing plans, multimodal plans, traffic calming design, lighting design
• Contribute to quantities and cost estimates
• Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems
• Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols
• Support senior engineering staff through the construction phase with field and office support
• Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff
• Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation
• Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis
• Prepare technical reports to support the engineering efforts and drive project success

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred
• EIT preferred
• Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred

Compensation: Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $77,000. This position is eligible for straight-time overtime. There may be flexibility on salary for experienced candidates. Offers are based on a range of job-related factors such as internal equity, experience, skills, education, credential's role complexity.
