New Product Development / Design To Value Engineer
We are looking for a New Product Development / Design to Value (NPD/DTV) Engineer to be responsible for the development of refrigerated merchandisers, as well as cost reduction efforts on the existing product lines.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
- Apply value engineering methodologies to optimize cost position on existing products.
- Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing and Manufacturing Engineering to implement cost saving projects.
- Manage the DTV project from concept to completion, including scheduling and cross functional communication
- Brainstorm new and innovative solutions to achieve the product standardization and modularity.
- Develop CAD solid models and engineering simulation of proposed concepts.
- Collaborate with Product Management to validate the solution with the customer.
- Develop a test plan and work with the Engineering Lab to validate the solution.
- Conduct field tests to validate the solution.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrates capability to solve difficult and complex problems
What are the basic qualifications?
- B.S. in Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in design of industrial products
What are the preferred qualifications?
- Experience with product design and solid modeling in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, dehumidifier, sealed-system, airflow thermal management, or similar, design theory and application
- Experience in practical application of Six Sigma and Lean tools
- MS Mechanical Engineering

- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a high degree of product and process complexity
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a matrixed, functional organization with the ability to influence stakeholders in various functional groups
- Innovative mind with ability to generate solutions to customer needs
- Organized with business case analyses and reporting of project status
- Proficient at MCAD modeling of proposed solutions
- Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
