The State Corporation Commission ("SCC" or "Commission") Division of Public Utility Regulation ("PUR") seeks a Senior Analyst with a passion for public service and protecting the public interest in Virginia. PUR provides support to the Commission in its regulation of Virginia’s investor-owned electric, natural gas, water and sewer utilities, member owned electric cooperatives, and the telecommunications industry. The selected candidate for the Senior Analyst position will take a leading role in investigating electric, water and gas utility proposals for changes in customer rates and revisions to terms and conditions of service, with a primary emphasis on evaluating how the utility proposes to allocate and recover costs from its customers.

This position is based in Richmond, Virginia and operates on a hybrid schedule, including remote and in-office work each week (Monday – Friday). The SCC offers career growth and professional development opportunities, including job-related training, certifications, and designations.

  • Evaluate the impact of regulations, procedures, and legislative changes on the cost of providing utility services and customer rates
  • Document findings of investigations in pre-filed written testimony and reports
