Accounting Manager; Banking

The Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role within the finance department, partnering closely with senior accounting leadership to oversee daily accounting operations. This position is responsible for supervising staff, ensuring accurate and timely general ledger activity, and maintaining the integrity of financial records through thorough reconciliations and review processes.

• Monitor daily cash balances to ensure adequate liquidity and proper funding levels.
• Review and approve wire activity supporting accounting and treasury functions.
• Perform and review daily and monthly bank account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Reconcile sub-ledger activity to the general ledger and investigate variances.
• Oversee accounting and reconciliation for investment holdings.
• Manage lease accounting and related reporting requirements.
• Calculate and record share-based compensation activity, including accrual adjustments and related journal entries.
• Prepare and reconcile loan and deposit sub-ledgers to the general ledger.
• Prepare and submit required state and federal regulatory financial reports.
• Maintain the chart of accounts, including account setup, updates, and closures.
• Supervise and mentor accounting team members to promote accuracy, efficiency, and professional development.
• Ensure consistent and dependable attendance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 6+ years of progressive accounting or audit experience
• CPA license or active pursuit of CPA strongly preferred
• Prior experience supervising staff
• Financial institution or financial services experience required
