Help families build financial stability and achieve long-term economic mobility. As a Financial Coach at SCDHC, you will work directly with individuals and families to increase income, reduce debt, strengthen credit, and move toward lasting financial independence.
What You'll Do- Partner one-on-one with individuals and families to help them strengthen financial stability, build confidence with money management, and achieve long-term financial goals.
- Guide clients through personalized financial coaching sessions, including budgeting, credit improvement, debt reduction, and goal-setting strategies that support economic mobility.
- Develop individualized action plans that help clients increase income opportunities, access benefits, and build pathways toward asset growth and home ownership.
- Connect clients to SCDHC programs and trusted community resources that support housing stability, employment advancement, and overall financial wellness.
- Track client progress and celebrate milestones using Salesforce and the Combined Financial Assessment (CFA), ensuring accurate documentation and measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary Financial Opportunity Center team to coordinate services across employment coaching, benefits access, and financial counseling.
- Facilitate engaging financial education workshops and community sessions focused on topics such as budgeting, credit building, savings strategies, and financial empowerment.
- Create or adapt workshop materials that respond to community needs and promote practical, real-world financial skills.
- Build strong partnerships with local financial institutions, employers, and community organizations to expand opportunities and resources available to clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver financial counseling in a culturally responsive and client-centered manner.
- Experience working with low to moderate income families or demonstrated ability to effectively engage diverse individuals and families.
- Solid understanding of personal finance concepts, including budgeting, asset building, and credit building.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution preferred.
- No prior financial coaching title required — training provided for strong candidates with transferable experience.
