Actuary, Risk Manager/Analyst
The primary purpose of this role is to lead advanced actuarial analyses in support of pricing and reserving decisions across Professional Lines. This includes applying established actuarial principles to develop insights that inform business strategy, including evaluation of new opportunities and due diligence on portfolio or business acquisitions. Outputs are used by senior business leaders to support data-driven decision making and ensure alignment with profitability objectives.
Job Responsibilities- Lead pricing analyses for assigned Commercial Professional Lines, including development of rate indications, pricing tools, and portfolio insights to support profitable growth and pricing strategies.
- Evaluate and support new business opportunities, including research, modeling, and pricing framework development for emerging or expanding lines of business.
- Partner closely with Underwriting, Claims, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure pricing strategies appropriately reflect risk characteristics and market dynamics.
- Clearly communicate actuarial findings and recommendations to both actuarial and non‑actuarial audiences, including senior leadership, and adapt analyses as needed based on stakeholder feedback.
- Present results and recommendations in meetings, ensuring alignment and clarity across technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Provide guidance to non‑actuarial partners on actuarial principles, methodologies, and key assumptions driving pricing decisions.
- Contribute to and lead cross‑functional initiatives, representing the Actuarial function in broader business projects.
- Support the development of junior staff by reinforcing actuarial best practices and aligning work with corporate goals and standards.
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, or related analytical field.
Qualifications- Certification ACAS required; FCAS preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of actuarial experience, with strong emphasis on Commercial Lines pricing.
- Demonstrated experience in Professional Lines products (E&O, D&O, EPLI) strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead and manage projects, including prioritization, resource coordination, and delivery against deadlines.
- Strong communication skills; ability to influence and collaborate with Underwriting and other business partners.
- Ability to clearly articulate and defend actuarial assumptions, methodologies, and conclusions.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to balance technical rigor and practical business judgment.
- Experience working in cross‑functional environments and driving alignment across stakeholders.
- Ability to balance creativity with sound actuarial discipline in developing pricing strategies.

CompensationBase salary range $141,640 to $194,755 with 30% incentive.
