A premier financial services firm in Richmond is seeking a high-caliber Accounting Manager to lead financial reporting functions during a period of significant digital transformation. This is a pivotal role for a technical accountant who thrives in the "grey area" of complex financial services and wants to be the primary architect of a major ERP migration.

You will have a front-row seat to the firm’s evolution, transitioning our legacy processes into a robust, automated Net Suite environment while ensuring our financial statements remain beyond reproach.

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes with a focus on speed and accuracy.
• Direct the preparation of comprehensive financial statements
  , ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry‑specific regulatory requirements.
• Manage the consolidation of multiple entities and oversee complex intercompany eliminations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing the PBC (Provided by Client) list and ensuring a seamless audit trail.

• Serve as the Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our upcoming Net Suite implementation

• Partner with IT and external consultants to map the Chart of Accounts (COA), design automated workflows, and validate data migration.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual reconciliations and reporting functions within the Net Suite environment.
• Develop and deliver internal training for the accounting team on new system protocols and best practices.

• Mentor and develop a lean accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Enhance internal controls and documentation to mitigate risk in a high-volume financial services environment.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis to executive leadership to support strategic decision‑making.

• The
  
  Experience:
  
  6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within Financial Services or Private Equity. At least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
• The
  
  Education:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  CPA or MBA preferred.
• The Technical Edge: Deep, hands‑on experience with Net Suite is highly preferred (specifically through an implementation or optimization phase). Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Power Query) are a baseline requirement.
• The Detail: A "perfectionist" mindset regarding financial statement accuracy and a natural ability to spot discrepancies in complex data sets.
