Director, Mainstreet Finance
Capital One is seeking a culture‑led, results‑driven, and strategic Director of Mainstreet Card Finance. This individual will lead a team of financial analysts and work directly with the Card (Business) Leadership Team, the Card Finance Leadership Team, and key senior leaders across Finance disciplines including Corporate Planning, Accounting, Balance Sheet & Capital Planning, and Corporate Development.
The Mainstreet Card business generates meaningful returns for Domestic Card and the total Company. This role requires strong cross‑functional engagement, deep analytic capabilities, and the ability to leverage data to influence decisions while motivating and driving team agendas.
Responsibilities- Be a strategic thought partner and advisor with senior business leaders.
- Generate ongoing analytical insights into business performance, the P&L and the consumer.
- Develop and deliver insightful and influential senior management presentations.
- Support and influence senior business leaders.
- Balance analytics and judgment, think beyond Card, and influence corporate decision making.
- Be a talent and cultural beacon.
- Challenge the status‑quo and create well‑managed sustainable processes.
- Contribute to the broader Finance culture.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience.
- At least 10 years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Analysis, Management Consulting, or a combination.
- At least 4 years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function.
- At least 3 years of people management experience.
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- 12+ years’ experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Business Analysis, Management Consulting, or a combination.
- 5+ years’ experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function.
- 4+ years of people management experience including both direct & indirect reports.

The minimum and maximum full‑time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations.
McLean, VA: $206,000 - $235,100 for Director, Financial Management
Richmond, VA: $187,300 - $213,700 for Director, Financial Management
This role is also eligible to earn performance‑based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long‑term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non‑discretionary depending on the plan.
