Our Richmond, VA office has an exciting opportunity for a Client Service Associate
. This role is instrumental in driving a culture of exceptional service across the team, delivering outstanding support to clients, external partners, and internal advisors. The Client Service Associate will play a key part in managing multiple priorities, supporting team operations, and fostering collaborative problem solving with opportunities for future growth and leadership.
Hourly rate: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
On‑site position with an expected start date after September 1, 2026.
Primary Job Functions New Client Onboarding- Ensure accurate completion of prospect and new client paperwork and setup.
- Follow up on funds transfers from surrendering companies.
- Maintain client records and update the CRM database, including data input, filing, and copies.
- Research and follow up on issues with the Broker/Dealer, WEG Operations, and vendors.
- Record incoming assets in the appropriate blotting tool.
- Communicate with clients to understand their personal history and current financial needs.
- Prepare account transactions, including trades, deposits, withdrawals, and required minimum distributions (RMDs).
- Respond to client requests, determine needed actions, coordinate with advisors or resolve issues as appropriate, including death claim processing.
- Collaborate with clients’ tax or legal counsel to address client concerns.
- Gather client data and prepare materials for client meetings and reviews.
- Conduct tax research (e.g., 1099s).
- Complete follow‑up actions arising from client reviews.
- Demonstrate proficiency with WEG Suitability Guidelines, operational processes, and the sales model.
- Understand financial terminology and investment products.
- Apply working knowledge of annuities, mutual funds, separately managed accounts, fixed income, stocks, options, alternative investments, hedge funds, and charitable giving practices.
- Attend client services and company educational events as well as vendor presentations.
- Assist advisor team operations to streamline processes.
- Support operational projects to enhance and implement changes.
- Communicate process and sales updates to the team.
- Mentor and train Client Service Associates.
- Manage vendors to align with Service Level Agreements.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business, finance, economics, or a related field
- Customer service training, knowledge, or experience
- Ability and interest to learn financial concepts and products
- Ability to work with deadlines, be flexible under pressure, and prioritize work
- Ability to work as a team member
- Ability to learn WEG’s sales model, WEG/LPL processes and procedures, and financial product features
- Ability to learn the client review process and how reviews are completed
- Strong attention to detail
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Support Org functionality
- Experience with Workday preferred
