Savoire Financial is a woman/queer-owned boutique financial planning and asset management firm committed to service, leadership, inclusion, innovation, and care. We proudly support high-net-worth women, LGBTQIA+ clients, and small business owners with intelligent, compassionate financial guidance. We are a fee-only firm and take our fiduciary role seriously. Our culture centers on autonomy, clear communication, community engagement, and honoring diversity in every form.
Aboutthe Role
Savoire Financial is looking for an experienced Financial Planner to join an established advisory practice, working closely to deliver high-touch, high-quality planning.. This is a planning-and-service role, not a business development role — you will not be responsible for generating new clients. Instead, you'll own the planning work behind the scenes and eventually take an active seat at the table in client meetings.
WhatYou'll Own
- Build and maintain comprehensive financial plans, covering cash flow, retirement strategy, tax planning, estate and legacy design, insurance, education planning, and investment integration.
- Prepare detailed planning analysis and develop recommendations for advisor review.
- Run scenario modeling and proactively identify planning opportunities — not just when asked.
- Prepare meeting agendas, presentations, and supporting materials.
- Present planning analysis and recommendations in client meetings alongside the advisor.
- Document action items and drive follow-up through to completion.
- Respond to client questions and requests directly, with care and accuracy.
- Coordinate with clients' external tax and legal professionals as part of integrated planning.
- Support new client onboarding — account setup, transfers, and investment implementation.
- Contribute to developing and refining Standard Operating Procedures for repeatable planning processes.
- Identify and flag gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve the client experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on financial planning experience, gained at an RIA, broker-dealer, or similar advisory environment.
- Bachelor's degree required; finance, accounting, or financial planning preferred.
- CFP® designation strongly preferred; equivalent licensing, depth of knowledge and demonstrated experience will also be considered.
- Ability to work in person, in Richmond, VA 1-2 days a week.
- Experience working with high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and small business owners.
- Proficient with financial planning software and able to learn new tools quickly.
- Comfortable interacting with clients and other team members both in person and virtually.
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter who takes initiative without being asked.
- A sense of ownership; you follow through, fix mistakes, and take pride in your work.
- A collaborative, “pitch in where needed” attitude and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- The initiative to solve problems independently and a growth mindset that embraces feedback.
- Commitment to inclusion, discretion, and sensitivity in client interactions.
- Base salary: $80,000–$95,000/year, depending on experience.
- Bonus and profit share opportunities.
- 15 days off annually, plus stock market/bank holidays.
- Support for continuing education and professional development.
- Additional benefits negotiable based on candidate needs.
You’ll be part of a values-driven, inclusive firm that believes history and systems have often made money inaccessible and wealth out of reach — and that we can be part of the change that creates a new generation of wealth holders. We offer autonomy, clear communication, and a genuine path for you to grow into a bigger role as the practice grows.
