Job DutiesThe Virginia Department of Health is looking to hire Fiscal Compliance Auditors for their Office of Family Health Services for reviewing financial records, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and funding requirements. This role conducts audits, evaluates internal controls, identifies compliance issues, and prepares clear reports with recommended corrective actions. This position would involve frequent weekday / overnight travel to complete these audits.
Minimum Qualifications- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to plan, lead and conduct a variety of different local agency management evaluations independently; apply generally accepted accounting and audit principles and professional internal auditing standards; analyze program related financial and non-financial data to arrive at logical conclusions for findings; and identify and solve local health district problem areas.
- Excellent written, oral, presentation and human relation skills.
- Ability to research, compile and analyze data
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of program process, program management, analytical principles and program development.
- Extensive overnight travel may be required. A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
Ability to develop audit procedures based on federal grant regulations
Special InstructionsEmployment is contingent upon satisfactory results of a state and federal criminal history background check and the Department of Social Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry check, U.S. HHSIG Exclusion List check, employment reference check and E-Verify. Other financial, credit, driving, background checks or completion of Statement of Economic Interests may be required for certain positions.
