To develop and maintain a statewide integrated pesticide management plan; provide training to institutional staff; provide inspections of all Correctional Facilities for effective pest control methods; oversee extermination services and insure the effectiveness of the Integrated Pesticide Management (IPM) program. To ensure a safe and healthy environment for the Department of Corrections facilities by providing expertise on the IPM plan, inspections of facilities and applicator license training to staff at all Correctional Facilities.

To ensure that each correctional facility maintains licensed pesticide applicator through a continuous training program.

Demonstrated knowledge in the development and implementation of an Integrated Pesticide Management Plan. Demonstrated knowledge of basic building maintenance and ability to work well with institutional staff. Demonstrated ability to set up and manage applicator license training programs. Demonstrated ability to identify evidence of insects, rodents, and other pest problems. Skill in the application of chemicals. Skill in documentation and report writing.

Licensed by the Virginia Department of Agriculture as a “Not for Hire” applicator. Possess US Department of Agriculture & A General Pest Control License.

Background Investigation Requirements:
