Hiring Range: $190,000 - $195,000

Job Duties

About the Position:

Provides leadership and coordination of agency operations in support of agency head, coordinates all Personnel and Administrative operations, interagency operations, leadership oversight of STARBASE Programs, interagency operations, legislative efforts, State evaluations and reports, and State Boards and Commissions.

Directs and oversees the day-to-day administration, coordination, planning, development, execution and supervision of Administration, Operations, Human Resource Management, Legislative, and related liaison operations.

This position is based out of Richmond, VA at the Defense Supply Center - Richmond (DSCR). The incumbent of this position will be required to travel throughout the Commonwealth regularly, occasionally overnight. Telework for this position is only allowable in the event of an emergency.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have previously served in the army at the rank of Colonel (O-6) or equivalent rank in another military branch or higher;
  • Extensive leadership experience in Senior Virginia National Guard Military operations;
  • Extensive experience in senior leadership management and capabilities;
  • Ability to formulate detailed plans, processes, and advise senior leaders on the direction to proceed;
  • Ability to hold a Secret clearance;
  • Demonstrated ability at leading change, leading people, strategic planning, and building coalitions;
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must be computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office;
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required.
Additional Considerations
  • Prior experience in a high level of management in State Government preferred;
  • Joint staff and Brigade Command experience preferred;
  • Senior level State Agency operations experience preferred.
