JOB DESCRIPTION

This position primarily processes all submitted compliance data and supporting documents related to land application of biosolids and other residuals as fertilizer on agriculture and forestry sites and may conduct database entry as an agency compliance auditor. Data reviewed may include, but is not limited to, PFAS concentrations and limits, nutrient management plan requirements such as application rate, timing, supplemental fertilizer and lime rates, and other best management practices required by permits.

Work associated with the position will be performed in an office setting and the successful candidate is not expected to perform field work.

Please note this position follows a hybrid work schedule to include both in-office and telework. Candidates must be able to work from the assigned work location in Virginia.

This position may require you to operate a state owned or leased vehicle. Therefore, a valid driver's license is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position's responsibility is to manage the process of evaluating and tracking water program data, as submitted, in order to analyze and evaluate data for determining compliance with water permits program, regulations and laws. This includes identifying violations and determining appropriate point assessment and formal compliance actions, as necessary. The position provides consistent and timely responses for violations of environmental laws regulations and policies;

operates and maintains the CEDS database for compliance violation determinations; and ensures CEDS data accuracy for assigned programs. The position also serves, as applicable, as the assistant e-DMR Regional Administrator.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of office procedures and organizational ability
  • Knowledge of water permits program environmentallaws, regulations and agency policies and the ability to interpret and understand these laws and regulations
  • Proficient skills in word processing, computer data entry and database management
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills
  • Ability to gather and analyze data
