Provides planning, organization, coordination, and training for a compliance assessment/assistance program to facilitate the Department’s adherence to state and federal hazardous materials and storage tank laws and regulations. Provides analysis to ensure that liabilities potentially incurred by the Department are minimized through appropriate assessment, cost-benefit, training, and/or risk management analysis and decision‑making. Provides guidance, direction, training and assistance with the implementation of corrective actions, design recommendations and/or preventative measures to address deficiencies noted during the assessments.

This position covers our Central Region. High School diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of federal and state solid and hazardous substance/materials/waste laws and petroleum storage tank laws. Technical knowledge of environmental science and environmental engineering, geology and chemistry principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to interpret facility assessment reports and develop reasonable and effective solutions. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple technical projects and programs. Must complete the minimum of HAZWOPER 24‑hr training within 12 months of employment.

Valid Driver's License. Progressively responsible experience in Environmental Sciences.
