Job Summary And QualificationsThe Speech Therapist provides high‑quality, patient‑centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments, establishes appropriate treatment goals, and serves as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.
What You Will Do- Conduct subjective assessments of assigned patient’s speech‑language abilities during spontaneous conversation.
- Administer objective tests to assess patient’s communication assets and liabilities.
- Structure and implement individualized patient programs to improve communication abilities.
- Evaluate patients regularly during treatment and adjust programs as needed to maximize progress.
- Document progress in the patient’s chart, including notes, charges, discharge notes and patient communication.
- Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre‑screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Master’s Degree.
- Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP) credential.
