Essential Job Statements
- Functions under direct, personal supervision of a registered Echocardiographer in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital and sonography policies and procedures.
- Directs patients to imaging rooms and clearly explains the exam and exam expectations.
- Performs high quality echocardiograms in the order stated in the imaging protocol.
- Stocks and/or obtains supplies as directed and maintains an organized work area.
- Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor: time/schedule changes; legal issues; care which deviates from standard; and identify educational resources to meet developmental needs.
Position Requirements
Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your Supervisor and/or Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet department needs. Day shift availability is expected.
Employment Qualifications Required Education- A student that is currently enrolled and actively completing a School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Student actively enrolled in a cardiac sonography/cardiovascular sonography program at an academic institution, or a recent (6-months) graduate of a cardiac/cardiovascular sonography program who has not yet obtained credentials in cardiac sonography.
- CPR - Basic Life Support
- Periods of high stress and fluctuating workloads may occur.
