OverviewWe are looking for a CT Technologist to work a 7 day on 7 day off rotation. Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Week 2 - Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. This position will rotate at VCU facilities in Tappahannock, VA and Colonial Heights, VA. We offer an excellent compensation package plus an annual profit-share bonus of 4%, paid the hourly rate door-to-door, mileage reimbursement for all but 60 miles/trip, cell phone stipend, clothing allowance and much more.
Must be willing and flexible to travel occasionally to other sites within the region to provide back up support. We offer an annual profit-share bonus, guaranteed pay program, cell phone stipend, clothing allowance and much more!
- Ensuring physicians and other members of a patient’s care team receive high-quality images they can use to make diagnoses or assess the success of treatments.
- Interpreting the orders provided by the physician or other prescribing medical professional.
- Explaining what will happen during the CT scan to patients.
- Positioning patients properly to take the necessary images.
- Administering IVs that contain contrast dyes to enhance imaging.
- Examining images to ensure they’re usable.
- Updating patient medical information.
- Keeping an inventory of CT scan supplies and making orders for supply restocks as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Must be able to multi-task while maintaining great patient care as well as superior quality of exams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, analytical, critical thinking, organizational and time management skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work well independently.
- The ability to follow instructions in stressful environments.
- Superb bedside manner and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
- PC proficiency to access job-related internet websites, review on-line documentation and experience using Microsoft Office Suite products.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Testing
- CNMT or ARRT (N)
- CPR certified
- Mandatory education provided by DMS
To ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, the following vaccinations, titers, or declinations and health requirements are required: MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella);
Varicella (Chickenpox);
Hepatitis B Series;
Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis); annual Influenza vaccine; COVID-19 vaccination, if required by facility policy;
Tuberculosis screening (annual or per facility guidelines)
- Stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel and crawl
- Climb up and down stairs
- Push and pull wheelchairs
- Carry and lift with the ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or exam
- Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
