About The Role
Bring creativity, energy, and purpose to your work as an Activity Specialist this full-time role, you'll design and lead engaging, inclusive activities that enrich the daily lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values person-centered support, and thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll play a key role in creating meaningful experiences that promote independence, social connection, and overall well-being across all of our Adult Day Support programs.

- The Activity Specialist plans, facilitates, and adapts group and individual activities that reflect participant interests, abilities, and goals.
- Promotes skill development in socialization, communication, daily living, and recreation while encouraging participation and honoring individual choice.
- Provides hands-on support as needed and models positive behavior and effective communication.
- Supports participants with daily routines and transitions and maintains a safe, respectful environment.
- Collaborates closely with Direct Support Professionals and supervisors; assists with supervision during meals, outings, and community activities.
- Maintains activity supplies and inventory; participates in trainings and meetings.
- Represents the program positively in the community while ensuring compliance with all policies, licensing standards, and safety requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent; experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or leading group activities.
- Associate’s degree or college coursework in human services, recreation, education, or a related field is preferred, along with experience in Adult Day Support, special education, or recreation therapy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate individuals with diverse needs; commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA compliance.
- Valid driving record and ability to travel between program sites; pass required background checks; obtain or maintain CPR/First Aid certification.
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
