Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced MFM Sonographer with ARDMS OB/GYN certification and a minimum of 2 years of direct high-risk OB/MFM practice.
Responsibilities- Position is in a Maternal Fetal Medicine Clinic specializing in high-risk obstetrics
- Direct work with high-risk OB/MFM patient population is required
- Responsibilities include detailed fetal anatomy scans, growth scans, BPPs, Dopplers, and other high-risk pregnancy imaging procedures
- Typical schedule is 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, from 7:45am to 4:15pm
- Candidate may be required to travel between clinic locations
- Scrubs without branding may be worn
- Duties include performing specialized obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound exams, fetal surveillance, and assisting in invasive diagnostic procedures
- Responsible for maintaining daily logbooks, accurate records, and proper billing for exams
- Must properly maintain and operate ultrasound equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment according to infection control standards
- Participation in laboratory accreditation and ongoing professional development is expected
- Team-based collaborative environment with communication between patients, physicians, and staff
- Candidates must be prepared to pass an EKG exam on the first day of work, with study guides provided
- Direct experience with BPPs, Dopplers, and invasive procedures is essential
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience as an MFM sonographer in a high-risk OB/MFM setting
- ARDMS OB/GYN certification is required
- ARRT certification required if applicable
- BLS certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from a 24-month approved radiologic technology program
- Demonstrated experience with detailed fetal studies, transvaginal assessment, growth surveillance, and assisting with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling
- Familiarity operating GE ultrasound machines and fetal monitoring equipment
- Strong patient communication and support skills, especially in high-anxiety situations
- Compliance with continuing medical education for the specialty
- Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
