Duties & Responsibilities:
The School of Nursing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support a community-based produce prescription program conducted at 7 clinical sites. This position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community-based intervention around a Food is Medicine initiative, the Produce Prescription Program. The successful candidate will work closely with our research team to manage data, conduct statistical analyses, and develop compelling data visualizations for diverse stakeholder audiences.
PrimaryResponsibilities Data Management (20%)
- Develop and maintain study databases with quality assurance protocols
- Clean, code, and organize quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources
- Conduct biostatistical analyses including descriptive statistics, regression models, and longitudinal analyses
- Analyze health outcomes, food security and other social drivers of health measures, and program utilization patterns
- Perform subgroup analyses to assess program effectiveness across subgroups
- Collaborate with the research team to develop analysis plans and interpret findings
- Generate statistical reports and tables for manuscripts and presentations
- Create clear, engaging data visualizations (charts, graphs, infographics) for academic and community audiences
- Develop stakeholder-specific reports and presentations (community partners, healthcare providers, policymakers, funders)
- Assist in preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication
- Support development of conference presentations and posters
- Translate research findings into accessible formats for diverse audience
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Recent graduate or current enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Services Research, Statistics, or related field
- Experience with data analysis
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., R/ggplot2, Tableau, or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Strong statistical training
- Ability to effectively work in teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Coursework or demonstrated proficiency in biostatistics and quantitative research methods
