Job Details:

• Work in Adult Emergency Room at Level I trauma and teaching facility

• Care for 60-80 daily census with approximately 1000 visits per day in 64-room department

• Provide emergency care for patients from adolescent to geriatric age groups

• Handle high-acuity cases including trauma, burns, medicine, surgical, and psychiatric patients

• Work every third weekend with one pre-approved time off request allowed

• Complete 36 hours of orientation and required modules during orientation week

• Float within scope of practice when needed

• Maintain patient ratios in fast-paced, rapid turnover environment

• Minimum 3 years of emergency room experience required

• Level I trauma center experience required

• Travel nursing experience required

• Epic charting system experience required

• Required certifications: CPI, TNCC, ACLS, BLS

• BSN degree preferred

• Virginia or compact state nursing license must be in hand at time of submission

• Must adhere to natural nail policy

• Skills include stroke care, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, burns care, psychiatric holds, triage, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, arterial line management, IV starts and maintenance, continuous IV paralytics, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and pulmonary artery lines

• Fingerprinting required with 15-20 business day processing time before start date

• Two professional references required
