Certified Sterile Processing Technician

Job Summary

We are excited to offer a Certified Sterile Processing Technician position at Henrico, Parham & Retreat Doctors' Hospitals, part of HCA Healthcare. The role involves preparing operating room surgical case carts, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of re-processable supplies and equipment, ensuring compliance with hospital standards under direct or indirect supervision.

• Operate cleaning and sterilization equipment: cart washers, sonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers, and heat‑sealing units.
• Demonstrate proper knowledge of chemicals, detergents, and disinfecting agents used in the department.
• Assemble trays and peel packs, identifying contents, indicators, lot numbers, wrapping, labeling, and sterilization methods.
• Transport clean and soiled case carts between operating rooms and the Sterile Processing department; move instrumentation between peri‑operative services and CSP areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and adequate supply levels at workstations throughout the department.

• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 60 days of start date.
• High School Graduate / GED.
• Certification: CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician).
• One year of Central Sterile Processing experience preferred.
• Availability Monday‑Friday 1 p‑9:30 p and rotating weekends.
