Patient Service Rep

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Associates Degree in Healthcare or related field (preferred)
• Familiarity with medical billing procedures (required)
• Experience with medical office software (required)
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of ICD-9 and CPT coding (preferred)
• Previous experience in a medical office setting (preferred)
• Problem-solving aptitude and basic computer proficiency
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients
• Basic arithmetic skills

• Act as the primary point of contact for patients and the community
• Receive and process patient referrals and registrations
• Verify patient demographics, ensuring accuracy of information
• Obtain insurance cards and identification for records
• Schedule appointments and transcribe orders as necessary
• Provide clear explanations of financial options to patients
• Maintain updated medical records efficiently
• Make sure patient flow is uninterrupted and report issues to the Supervisor promptly
• Coordinate and prioritize bed placement needs to facilitate patient assignments
• Perform other duties as required
