Position: Certified Medical Assistant (Primary Care Clinic)

Job Overview – Certified Medical Assistant (Primary Care Clinic)

TAG Med Staffing is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (Primary Care Clinic) in Richmond, VA with our client. This temporary role supports providers delivering primary care to pediatric and adult patients across multiple clinic locations. Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating EMR records, scheduling follow-ups, and assisting with clinical procedures. Ideal for CMAs with pediatric experience who are passionate about primary care, community health, and preventive medicine.

Compensation: $18 - $24/hour

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week

Responsibilities as the Certified Medical Assistant:
  • Clinical Support: Room patients, record vital signs and histories, and assist providers with exams and procedures.
  • Administrative Coordination: Manage scheduling, follow-up calls, and documentation within the EMR system.
  • Infection Control: Maintain a clean, safe environment by following aseptic and safety protocols.
  • Specimen Collection: Collect and process lab specimens accurately while managing supply inventory.
  • Patient

    Education:

    Support patient understanding of treatment plans and promote healthy lifestyle practices.
Qualifications for the Certified Medical Assistant:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program required.
  • Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in the State of Virginia with current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Experience: Pediatric Medical Assistant experience required, with current or recent experience in community health, primary care, or public health settings.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and general computer applications.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with managed care guidelines, clinical documentation, and primary care workflows.
  • Skills & Attributes: Compassionate, detail-oriented professional with strong communication and organizational skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to patient care.
